Wiley Cousins
& Kingfish Willie and The Inhabitants play Springtime Blues 25.5. at
Poppari
Wiley Cousins, a Texan singer-pianist settled in Finland, will headline Springtime Blues at Poppari with his duo on Saturday 25th of May. Cousins is an energetic, swinging ambassador of white blues and funk rhythms. He landed in Tampere, the Austin of Finland, in 1997. Hes played with Stevie Ray Vaughans Double Trouble band and recorded with musicians from the Fabulous Thunderbirds, among others.
Kingfish Willie aka Ville Lehtovaara is a roots drummer from Tampere, whos known for bands such as SupraFonics, Zydeco Superstars and Jo Buddy & the Uplifters.
Cousins will be playing some amazing covers and also showcasing material of his own.
Supporting Cousins are the Inhabitants, a seven-piece comprised of music teachers and students, wholl make your hips shake with their mix of funk, blues and soul. Expect to hear songs by legends such as Curtis Mayfield, Etta James and B.B. King.
Tickets for the evening are 8 euros, or 5 euros for Blues Live! members.

Live! Festival (Jyväskylä,Finland) is an annual (first week of october)
indoor festival. The first Blues Live! festival took place back in 1981, check
out our history (Historia) page. There are also some club dates during the
year. Our regular club venue is the famous "Poppari Bar" (former
Jazz Bar), located in Jyväskylä city center. In May every year we
organize our "Springtime Blues" club happening. The annual (every
august) S/S Suomi Steamboat Blues Cruise on Lake Päijänne is a very
popular event.
